In 2009 PIC Network won the international tender launched by Benin and Niger for the concession of the railway network of the two states, operated by OCBN.

Description

In a joint letter of 22 July 2010, the government of Benin and Niger officially granted to PIC Network the concession for the management and operation of the railway which include the rehabilitation and extension of the binational railway. This will entail the rehabilitation of the existing section between Cotonou and Parakou in Benin and the construction of an international standard gauge line linking Parakou to Niamey through Dosso in Niger for the transport of goods and people to neighbouring countries and to landlocked regions.

Pursuant to the award, PIC was instructed to undertake without delay all necessary financial and technical audits for the railway line Benin-Niger. Thus the work on the project began.
